where the heart would be

Aging Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband, Earl. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death.
Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl's old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was so badly broken in the first place.
Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and burden to someone, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, "Your heart would be just below your left breast."
Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

A Little Bit of Humor...
The child was a typical four-year-old girl -- cute, inquisitive, bright as a new penny. When she expressed difficulty in grasping the concept of marriage, her father decided to pull out his wedding photo album, thinking visual images would help. One page after another, he pointed out the bride arriving at the church, the entrance, the wedding ceremony, the recessional, the reception, etc.
"Now do you understand?" he asked.
"I think so," she said, "is that when mommy came to work for us?"

~~~~~
Happiness lives for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.
~~~~~

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

~~~~~
Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.
~~~~~

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy, and enough money to buy gifts!!

~~~~~
When one door of happiness closes, another opens but often we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
20 Secrets to Happiness
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.
The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, Something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my "life".
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.
So, stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink, until you've sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
  1. Return everything you borrow.
  2. Stop blaming other people.
  3. Live within your means and within your seams.
  4. Be humble.
  5. Listen more; talk less.
  6. Every day, do something nice and try not to get caught.
  7. Strive for excellence, not perfection.
  8. Be on time.
  9. Don't criticize anyone for 24 hours.
  10. Be kind to other people.
  11. Be even kinder to unkind people.
  12. Take time to be alone.
  13. Admit it when you make a mistake.
  14. Understand and accept that life isn't always fair.
  15. Let someone cut ahead of you in line.
  16. Don't argue.
  17. Know when to say something.
  18. Know when to keep your mouth shut.
  19. Don't make excuses.
  20. Don't sweat the small stuff.
Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
If you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.
Words of Motivation from Dr. Mo's
"The truth is, whether you know it or not, your thoughts are responsible for whatever place or situation you are in right now."
"Any self-improvement program or journey of personal development starts with your thoughts. Master your thoughts first. Then you can master your environment and circumstances."
"Dreamers chart their own course and destiny. Dreamers are always striving to be the person they were meant to be and are not afraid to be different."
"I am here to tell you that there is another way. It’s not for everyone. It’s not the only way. It’s not the easier way. Actually, it is more likely to be the harder way. But I guarantee you it is the best way. It is simply this – follow your dreams."
"We cannot exhaust the creative power of our minds."
"If your mind can accept that something is achievable, it will find a way to attain that thing."
"Your potential as a human being…is unlimited. You have within you the ability to become and to achieve anything you want."
"Your vision is limited only by you. The problem is that you don’t know what you should be. It’s not your fault, really: your education has messed you up. It has taken your boundless potential and shrunk it and shaped it into a narrow title."
"If something is widely accepted and everyone is doing it, it is probably better for you as a dreamer not to do it."
"It is your responsibility to get the correct knowledge so you can have the correct road map of life. Ignorance is no defense. Ignorance will kill you."
"The truth is that while you are not totally responsible for what does and doesn’t happen to you, you are responsible for how you respond to what happens to you."
"There is a big difference between wishing and being a dreamer. Dreamers design their ideal life and work to achieve it everyday. They don’t believe in chance or luck. Wishers wait on a genii to grant their three wishes all their lives. The problem is, if the genii were to ever show up they still wouldn’t know what to wish for!"
"It may seem hard to take full responsibility for your life, but ultimately you will find it is the single most empowering decision you will ever make."
"There is a reason why a lot of people don’t believe in positive thinking and that kind of thing. It is simply that they do not want to face the fact that their lives are totally in their own hands and they are afraid of the immense potential and results if they do so."
"The amount of effort it takes to fail is the same amount of effort it takes to succeed as far as the mind is concerned. It is your responsibility to provide it with the right seeds of thought."
Five Golden Rules to Happiness By Gool Bugwadia
All of us want to be happy. We are in continual search for happiness each day of our lives. As we journey through life, each of us experience happiness in varying degrees---depending on the way we perceive things and on our emotional experiences. However, we soon realize that happiness is fleeting; it somehow evades us or escapes from our grasp. So how can we pursue happiness and make it an integral part of our lives?
Here are five Golden Rules to make happiness an ongoing process in our lives:
Rule #1 Set the Right Attitude~
Having the right attitude is the key to happiness. Our minds need to be tuned in the right direction irrespective of our talents, accomplishments or our bank accounts; for these factors alone cannot bring happiness. Rather, it is the combination of our ability to live fully and to give freely of ourselves that can contribute significantly to attaining inner peace and happiness. Maintaining the right attitude despite the life's difficulties instills self-confidence and energizes us to pursue our dreams while focusing on our goals.
Rule #2 Optimize your sense of Inner Value~
The foundation of achieving any goal of success lies in our inner strength and value. While some may momentarily succeed in finding superfluous happiness with instant gratification others wisely continue their quest of in search of something deeper and meaningful. It is ultimately the latter which leads to lasting happiness, which is oft doubled when shared with those we love and care about. Hence it is vital that we seek to optimize our sense of inner value. This helps to endorse our feeling of self-worth and motivates us to better performance.
Rule #3 Work to Succeed~
Work diligently, plan wisely, and focus consistently to succeed in all your pursuits--- be it personal or in your work. Success will not only bring you happiness, but contribute to raising your self-esteem and self-confidence. It will trigger your ego to perform better and rise above the ordinary while validating your feelings of self-worth.
Rule #4 Believe in Yourself~
Believe in your worth and your capabilities. Believe that you are a unique individual having multiple talents, skills and abilities. This will bring you a great sense of pride in yourself and the direction you have chosen to take in your life. It will significantly contribute your being happy and staying happy. "Happiness comes when we believe in what we are doing, knowing what we are doing and loving what we are doing."-----Brian Tracy.
Rule #5 Make good use of Time~
We all have been gifted with Time; how we utilize it to our advantage will yield rich dividends. Time spent wisely, can bring us not only academic and financial success, but can also contribute to our emotional and physical health and happiness. Effective time-management skills are a great tool to achieving success in all human endeavors.
In Conclusion~
Do not forget that in life challenges will always come. Obstacles may be strewn along life's journey. However, in the end, it will be YOU who can steer out to a safe and happier path; it will purely be your choice to be successful and happy. Your happiness will finally depend on how you endeavor to face the multiple events and challenges in your life. Learn to enjoy and make the most of your life today.
Seven Rules of Motivation
By : motivation-tools.com
#1 Set a major goal, but follow a path.
The path has mini goals that go in many directions. When you learn to succeed at mini goals, you will be motivated to challenge grand goals.
#2 Finish what you start. A half finished project is of no use to anyone. Quitting is a habit. Develop the habit of finishing self-motivated projects.
#3 Socialize with others of similar interest. Mutual support is motivating. We will develop the attitudes of our five best friends. If they are losers, we will be a loser. If they are winners, we will be a winner. To be a cowboy we must associate with cowboys.
#4 Learn how to learn. Dependency on others for knowledge supports the habit of procrastination. Man has the ability to learn without instructors. In fact, when we learn the art of self-education we will find, if not create, opportunity to find success beyond our wildest dreams.
#5 Harmonize natural talent with interest that motivates. Natural talent creates motivation, motivation creates persistence and persistence gets the job done.
#6 Increase knowledge of subjects that inspires. The more we know about a subject, the more we want to learn about it. A self-propelled upward spiral develops.
#7 Take risk. Failure and bouncing back are elements of motivation. Failure is a learning tool. No one has ever succeeded at anything worthwhile without a string of failures.
